Jimmy Carr twice in one night...

Jimmy Carr was playing Leeds Grand Theatre twice in a night so I decided, if he's willing to put in the effort then so am I. I decided it would be a little experiment as he is clearly a scripted comedian but I wanted to see if there were any differences.
Yes, I am a geek.
The first show was good with a brief appearance by Chris Moyles who, judging by the reaction, is quite the local hero. He told a few jokes but it really was brief and I wonder if this was rushed given the strict time restraints dictated by the second show.
Watching the second show highlighted the fact that he clearly felt uneasy during the first show, checking his watch several times and generally not seeming relaxed. Like I said, I still enjoyed it - though the films are hit and miss - but neither show quite lived up to what I have seen him do before. The pace seemed down and the jokes not quite as clever and some of his previous material (I thought this both times round!!).
It was by and large the same show which, of course, I am not complaining about even a bit. But it was interesting to see the subtle shifts he had to make depending on what the audience volunteered either through heckling or in the section of 'improv'.
I like Jimmy Carr. Although he apparently grates on some people and I think he is often considered to have 'sold out' to overexposure I always find when I see him live that he has a twinkle. You can tell he is enjoying pushing the boundaries and in no way wishes to cause offence. He is the epitome of a naughty school boy and I respect his ability to write the amount of solid material he does. He also repeats much less material than a lot of more fluid, storytelling comics I have seen from TV show to TV show. He clearly has a vast library of wit.
I am nothing if not committed.
