Best TV Comedy
October 7th 2007 22:55
Comedy is a bit like music for me. I like to have it on the background while I do things.
For example, yesterday I made soup to Harry Hill and today I write with Father Ted.
Father Ted has got me thinking though. I sometimes forget how truly brilliant it is. How could Ardal O'Hanlon have made such a step down with My Hero? And for SO long! It's infuriating that a show like that can get recommissioned time after time while other shows flounder.
Anyway, got me thinking about TV comedy shows - can there truly be a best?
Father Ted has got to be up there. Not very many episodes but all of them full of great lines and memorable moments that I am happy to watch over and over again. I couldn't even begin to pick my favourite episode.
Perfect, believable characters acted perfectly - oh, little Mrs Doyle is just testing her sandwiches. They meet her standards - hoorah!
Gotta love Father Ted.

It is the most irritating piece of pointless drivel I have ever come across... and it's on Paramount ALL the time!! They have access to such good shows! Who watches it?!
I might not hate it so much if it wasn't like some odd silent movie but they barely show any reactions!! Grr!!
